National Student Money Week 2025

This year’s National Student Money Week (NSMW25) is Survive and Thrive. The Financial Guidance Team and Student Money Mentors will be running a series of events and activities to help you survive with your finances, while also encouraging you to think beyond the basics, and to start thinking about how you can thrive for now and in the future.

For this year’s National Student Money Week we will be highlighting the financial support on offer from the university that you can access during your studies. This includes funds and loans, our Hungry Minds: campus pantry and support from our Citizens Advice rep.

Barclays colleagues are on-hand to provide guidance on key life moments, in addition to support with topics such as: building financial resilience, building digital confidence, staying safe from fraud and scams, buying a new home, setting up a new business or saving for the future.

Students on average throughout the UK are paying £540 a month on their rent. If your rent is significantly higher than this or you feel you are struggling financially to pay the rent, then you may need to assess your financial circumstances and budget. You can always come and speak to the Financial Guidance Team and we can help you with building your budget and accessing additional financial support where available.

A takeaway can be a tasty treat every now and then, but ideally you should be getting use to cooking for yourself and creating your own fakeaway dishes to help you save on money and eat a bit healthier.
